Kuşçular Stone House

A dilapidated two-storey village house brought back to life, keeping its original stone walls.
The house in Kuşçular had stood empty for twenty years; its roof had collapsed and its timber balcony had rotted. We first secured the roof and load-bearing walls, repointed the rubble walls with lime mortar and remade the roof timbers in chestnut in our workshop. The bathroom and kitchen sit in a timber inner shell without touching the stone.
